The 2027 BMW 7 Series still wears an Iconic Glow kidney

The 2027 7 Series is an extensive update to the existing seventh-generation sedan, rather than a new generation count. BMW’s U.S. release describes a slimmer, more vertical Iconic Glow kidney grille with a new horizontal graphic and a two-section headlamp layout.

The upper elements carry daytime running lights, side markers and turn signals. The road-lighting functions sit lower in the front corners. Adaptive LED headlights are standard, while BMW Individual crystal headlights are optional and contain 12 crystal-glass elements per upper light. A sparkling close-up of a press car therefore does not establish the equipment on every 740 or i7.

Exterior packages complicate an engine identification. BMW specifies a dark Iconic Glow kidney treatment, dark wheels and darkened rear lights for M Sport Package Professional. Those finishes can change the same body’s appearance without proving a particular drivetrain. The package description also makes the dark crystal treatment conditional on ordering crystal headlights with that package.

Use the grille proportions and split lighting to recognize the updated design, then check the model badge and original option list. BMW’s July-2026 launch statement is an announced production and market schedule, not a substitute for checking availability of an exact model in local stock.
